Gary was the instigator and major force of the whole, “war plan” conducted by wooing Carson on yachts in the South of France! He would up, almost single handed, stealing Johnny Carson to host ABC’s world famous, “Academy Awards” for 6 years – possibly one of the greatest “bookings” of the industry of all time.

Mr. Pudney began his career at 18 years of age, answering the private backstage telephone in Jack Benny’s dressing room… before long the was an old pro in making and taking calls on behalf of Mr. Benny to the then President, Ike Eisenhower. Thus began his infatuation and love affair with celebrity and the lives of the rich, influential and famous.

Of the many, many contributions to the entertainment industry, Mr. Pudney has personally been responsible for the 1st benefit ever to raise funds for AIDS when President Regan admitted to the public through a telegram that the AIDS crisis existed. Gary then established the 1st “Special Project” department at a network, ABC, by creating galas to raise money for numerous charities which benefited all mankind. He was responsible for creating the 1st “New Talent Development Program” and cross country searches for young and upcoming future stars and embraced their hopes for a careen in the entertainment industry.

Mr. Pudney was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up primarily in Southern California, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California at Los Angeles. He has served as a Captain of the US Air Forces. He presently resides in Southern California with homes in Malibu and Century City. Mr. Pudney continues to travel the globe producing broadcast and non-broadcast events.
