The gala, “A Commitment to Life”, honoring 1st Lady Betty Ford, was one of Hollywood’s most star studded events of the decade. He produced, for ABC Television, “Elizabeth Taylor’s 65th Birthday Celebration. The special, “Happy Birthday Elizabeth” was the highest rated special of the year on ABC and raised one million dollars for the “Aids” effort.
